Aerospatiale SA-2 Samson anyone?
ReplyDeletePut a yellow paint on it and send it to the school!
Wish that a U.S. marine Cast Master leading them off the ramp? And are they flying from one of their. "LHD"esque destroyers or the USS. Bon Homme Richard LHD 6?
ReplyDeleteWas, I meant to say was that a USMarine Cast Master.
ReplyDeleteLooks like something from the movie Avatar.
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun and games until there's engine trouble with any of the rotors. Then it's a viking funeral.
ReplyDeleteBlack, you forgot the special camouflage system. Run a wire over the top and the enemy will think it's a skytram filled with skiers instead of a helicopter! :)
ReplyDeletethis concept art has been floating since 2013 it envisions 2050. I doubt that is anything like what the final replacement for the Chinook will look like. I figure a Quad rotor with tech from the V280 Valor

funny you would say that as the seating from the video it was taken from looks alot like that.
ReplyDeleteA rotor needs to be quite big to be effective at hovering. I am still more impressed by the concept of retractable rotor-blades in a tilt rotor.
ReplyDeleteyou gents are wrong. the ducted rotor has been found to be extremely effective. why we haven't pursued it is beyond me but it works.
