I followed some of the links and the imagery is pretty much unreal! I do believe they should consider moving that city to some entirely different, safer site.
And I believe the OP best resembles the Hellmouth of Sunnyvale, CA in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. I hope they have their Army deployed against rising hordes of demons...
