not really...8 bladed props have been manufactured by ... i forget the companies name but they're quite common.... the A400M is not at all unique or revolutionary...
as a matter of fact it follows the Airbus model of building aircraft that are tweeners...between one model and another and then hailing it as something radically different.
From that distance it looks a lot like the A400M turboprops.
