But forgetting that nonsense, I appreciate the wishes and wanted to hit you with a couple of issues I was able to read up on, follow on the news concerning current defense issues...
1. The F-35 as seen by Air Force Flight Test School...via Combat Aircraft Magazine...
Unfortunately the issue is by subscription only. It is well worth the read but here's the highlight from one of the pilots with the Air Force Flight Test School...
"It'a a little too early to tell but I would say that all indicators show that the F-35 can be a very capable airplane"
Major Matt Hayden, F-35 Flight Sciences Test Pilot, Edwards AFB
2. The NEO in Egypt. via Information Dissemination.
G-Man has been rather cautious in his outlook on this situation but I personally get the whiff that things might be a bit more dicey than many in the West are being told. If the Enterprise and her group are headed toward Egypt than the situation is not a benign as we are being told. Even now, I believe more is brewing beneath the surface and it deserves a much more careful look.
Welcome back. Hope you've recovered completely.
ReplyDeleteEgypt: Indeed.
Take care. Ferran, BCN.
i can't put my finger on it Ferran and some will say that i'm a conspiracy theorist (well at least when it comes to opposition on the F-35) but things just don't add up when it comes to Egypt.
ReplyDeletei wish i could keep focus on it for the next couple of years because it appears that that N. African nation will be shaping the Middle East in ways that Iran couldn't.
Glad you're back, hope the leg is/gets better.
ReplyDeleteRe - Egypt, it's the total regional security picture that got a kick in the jewels with this uprising.
The latests sabotage of the gas-pipeline(s) to Israel(!) and Jordan may just be the beginning of various groups wanting to seize the spotlight.
Recall that the "Egyptian Islamic Jihad" was founded by Al Qaeda's No.2 Ayman Al Zawahiri.
Maybe more later. For now,
ReplyDeleteThere are probably MANY things going on, there. Even if the probability of some of them is low, as long as it's not negligible it must be taken care of. The danger merits some attention.
I don't think flat decks are the best way to evac --100 miles East there's a friendly nation--, but they do have other purposes. Just in case.
Even conspiracy nuts can have enemies. Specially regarding the F35 [man, am I in love with the B! Don't much care about the rest, I admit, but they're a good way to absorb R&D costs for my preciouss...]. ;)
Take care.
Solomon, wasn't the Big E headed in that direction anyway, since it is bound for the Persian Gulf, no?
ReplyDeleteyou're right on that note Thomas, but just as i like to think that i'm clued into somethings regarding the Marine Corps, i think that the G-man is equally or even more clued into Navy issues.
ReplyDeletehe made the connection and i just happen to concur with his assessment --- but to go one step further i believe that this has the hallmarks of a Naval Task Force being assembled for future missions....missions that include Egypt.
Coincidence or not... do you not have 4 mobile runways there, right now? Plus the ones in Saudi Arabia and NE Sinai.
ReplyDeleteOTOH, being on a hot spot might be good for Enterprise sailors, so they can forget recent troubles.
Just an opinion. Take care.
Nice to see you back, Solomon.
ReplyDeleteI also questioned "blood makes the grass grow." There's got to be a better way to water the grass... At MCRD San Deigo we had more mud and dirt than grass anyway.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back!
Kateykakes, Resident Author...thanks guys.
ReplyDeleteyeah RA, its definitely time to take a closer look at body maintenance....and you're right about blood making the grass grow...but if its my blood then i'd prefer a bare lawn.
