i havent seen too many M113s with turrents on it, why dont we do that for extra protection in Iraq and other places until the MRAPS and Strykers got there?
A noteworthy exercise this one. For the first time Australia has deployed a mecahnised battlegroup with M1A1, M113AS3, ASLAV, Tiger ARH, Blackhawk, and Chinook as well as Army's new M777A2 155mm howitzers, all live firing in a combined arms environment.
It's also the first time we have employed live Hellfire, Excalibur 155mm and Javelin missiles in combined precision strike activities...
Quite a potent capability by our regional standards...
