KHAN-NESHIN, Afghanistan-KHAN NESHIN, Helmand province, Afghanistan –
U.S. Marines with the air interdiction force composed of 1st Battalion,
25th Marine Regiment, and 2nd Bn., 11th Marines, search a vehicle during
an air interdiction force mission here, Dec. 7. The AIF mission was
conducted in support of an Afghan Border Police led clearing operation
in Khan-Neshin. During the mission, Marines and sailors from Charlie
Co., 1/25, and 2nd Bn., 11th Marines, circled above, searching for
suspicious vehicles or personnel. The AIF plays a unique role with

I doubt the mich/ach that captain is wearing was issued ( I do like the addition of the ops core rails) but who knows.
ReplyDeleteI remember when Captains would have the First Sargent go and "devil dog" you when you wore non issued high speed low drag gear. Even they issued you junk that was hardly "servicesable" then they would make you run to cash sales to buy a new piece of kit.
ReplyDeleteYah a lot of what I wear isn't issued but its been bought over time, fits the load thats required and is just better than what I'm issued (and thanks to people I know or family knows as been almost free). I don't have a problem with troops doing the same as thing as long as its within reason and practical. My one sticking point is armor, that is something you wear what your issued.
