Gun control.

If you're on the fence about the 2nd amendment then check out this quote...
”This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!” ~Adolph Hitler, 1935, on The Weapons Act of Nazi Germany
Wow.

The bastard was right.  Germany, England, Australia, France and many other nations have followed.  Looks like he just might win in the end...at leas in those countries.

  3. The nuances of a quote don't matter.

What matters is that Nazi Germany wasn't possible until the German equivalent of America's First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, and Fourteenth rights were eliminated in whole or in part.

You have to be living under a rock to not see a parallel in modern America.

  4. thank you! when stuff goes bad and i hope it doesn't but to me at least its obvious that it will (probably this summer when we reach 5 dollar gas), the economy comes to a shudder stop, food prices go sky high...troops are in major cities attempting to restore order and people are acting like they've lost their minds then and only then will people understand why we need the 2nd amendment.

  6. Bit OTT dont you think??? Don't think too many Australians want to be compared to Hitler's regime. Sure lets just let anyone own a gun. I know its a cultral thing in the US to own firearms, but sometimes your agruments for supporting your right to bear firearms are about as silly as the reasoning above.

  7. if you think that my thinking that an economic collapse is imminent then alot of other stuff that i've seen and done would drive you bat shit crazy.

i practice with my CARRY firearm at least once a month...at least once a month.

i exercise everyday. i make sure i at LEAST meet the FEMA minimums regarding food storage, i'm working like a madman to get out of debt and i believe that governments all over the world are becoming more totalitarian everyday.

Australians lost the right to bear arms and is it safer? seriously? is it safer? electronic monitoring is rampant in most industrialized countries and no one is saying a thing about it. its as if most MEN have given up the responsibility of self determination and have gotten to the point of depending on OTHER MEN to defend them.

in my opinion thats sad and pathetic.

  8. Australians haven't lost the right to own firearms Sol. We have to be appropriately licenced, just as most places in America require this as I understand it, weapons we own have to be registered, but we can own most classes of firearms from rifles to shotguns to pistols, in whatever numbers we desire whether we live in cities or in the country.

What we can't own (generally) are self-loading rifles and self-loading (automatic or semi-automatic) shotguns.

    Everything else is fair game.

  9. Since the legislation came in that prevented ownership of self-loading rifles, weapons like the Remington 7600 pump action .223 rifles have become very popular in Australia and are perfectly legal.

I'm strongly considering purchasing one of these at present:

To add to my current Glock 0.40cal.

  10. my grandfather (a french resistant)used to say that one of the biggest mistake that de gaule did was to ask everybody to give back the guns after ww2 ...
from what i know the french still holds on a lot of weapons (mainly for hunting..,..or illegaly)
the swiss might have found a solution that seems fair:
-every swiss who serve keep his (or her) weapons at home for the rest of his life.
    wikipedia :
"The structure of the Swiss militia system stipulates that the soldiers keep their own personal equipment, including all personally assigned weapons, at home. Compulsory military service concerns all male Swiss citizens, with women serving voluntarily. Males usually receive initial orders at the age of 18 for military conscription eligibility screening. About two-thirds of young Swiss men are found suitable for service, while alternative service exists for those found unsuitable.[3] Annually, approximately 20,000 persons are trained in basic training for a duration from 18 to 21 weeks (increased from 15 weeks, in 2003).
