Sgt. Michael Trevino, personal security detail, non-comissioned
officer, 172nd Infantry Brigade, utilizes a foot bridge to cross a
swollen river outside of the village of Marzak while locals wash
clothing on the far bank. Marzak has historically been a stronghold
for the insurgency over the past decade until the Afghan and U.S
forces took advantage of the winter months to establish a local police
force at the request of the elders and secure the village from foreign
fighters who transit the area during the fighting season. |
I'm digging his EMOD stock and P-Mags...I thought chest rigs for your sidearm was a no-no now...and I can't identify his optics. Was this a unit or private purchase?
What was the full story on banning chest rigs for sidearms?
ReplyDeleteoooh you're calling me on that one. to be honest i recall a reading an ALMAR or maybe the US ARMY's equivalent stating that chest wearing of your sidearm was no longer allowed.
ReplyDeletei'll see if i can't dig it up.
envious of his TCI liberator headset! as for the sight looks like a leopold, maybe filling a DM billet?
ReplyDeleteyeah...standby for a private e-mail on that! as far as his optics are concerned i thought about the DM role (especially considering the bipod) but i thought the Army was all M-110 or M-14 (modded) for that.
ReplyDeleteas it is, i'm kinda curious 'cause his optics appear to outperform his carbine big time.
eh, maybe a heavy barrell? (IAR is Honestly a better choice for just a DM rifle sometimes) this guy has alot of stuff, looks like a mayflower LLC chest rig, and his charging handle looks enlarged so prob a gas breaker there. never been a big fan of having my pistol on the chest...not a natural movement when moving your rifle...i understand the placement when meched up but even then i would just strap a holster on the dash and put it there.
ReplyDeleteexactly. fashion over form in my opinion when you wear your sidearm on your chest...but i've seen guys with thier pistols damn near touching their knees so i'm not surprised ....i missed the chest rig and the charging handle.
ReplyDeletetotally agree on the IAR. i hate the concept but would love to see it as the next Marine Corps Rifle. it would give back everything that's been lost over the years.
time to check out this pic again.
