no, the bigger joke is on the American people. we haven't been able to develop a newer launch system so we have to rely on this old war horse. its sad and pathetic but all things considered better than nothing.
Actually no. Titan was retired in 2005. Today they use Atlas V and Delta IV for the launches. Both launchers have very little in common with their predecessors except for the names. Waiting in the wings is SpaceX's Falcon 9 Heavy but they have to prove they can reliably launch first.
