I am amazed at US policy toward Afghanistan.
Why are we trying so hard to Americanize these people?
We build roads, they grow poppy.
We educate their children, they grow poppy.
We liberate them from the Taliban and they shoot our servicemembers from behind.
Why are we in Afghanistan again?
The biggest threat to UK coming from Afghanistan isn't Muslim-fundamentalism (we already have enough of our own of that!) but the heroin. We should be holding ground, building schools, or fighting the Taliban (who ever they are) we should be just burning poppy fields. Forget paying the farmers; we live in a world where many go hungry so you can't tell me they don't have a market for foodstuffs. It makes me very angry.
