Sweet. I was talking to a guy just this morning about the ship class and that David Axe seemed to have stepped in it with his readership today on the topic, but I was wondering how far along the first in class was. The pic answered the question well enough.
Hey Sol. Something weird going on. I posted a comment here earlier today from my phone and it looked like it took. Obviously it didn't. What I said was basically this: Talking about the LHA 6 class with a guy at work today. What brough the subject up was Axe's oblique hit piece against the F-35 and modern LHAs, how his readership was giving him an 'earful over the awful', and how I wasn't sure if LHA 6 was floated yet , but your pic answered the question just fine. Thanks again.
yeah i jumped into the dog pile on Axe. i kinda feel sorry for the guy...he's been catching it from all directions lately...first with the Army General in korea and now with that article...the rest of the procurement system seems to be at a standstill but they've been popping out amphibs like pez dispensers...along with subs...just gotta get the F-35 going full speed and the '22 fixed and we might give China pause.
I wonder if they could keep the Wasp class going for a decade or decade and a half longer with an extensive refit. While adding more America class ships to grow the fleet towards that magical 300 number.
