Every pic I've seen of SEALs lately shows them sporting SCAR-17's. Is that the new weapon of choice?
Looking through the postings at milphotos the MK18 variants seem still prevalent, but more and more the MK17 in CQC and Standard lengths are showing up. Additionally the MK20 SSR looks to be popular too.

Why are the SEALs using a 7,62mm rifle as their normal weapon?it was my understandig that the FN SCAR would only replace the m-14 family of weapons...it doesnt make sense to use a rifle that is dificult to control in auto fire and that makes the user carrie less ammunition...the FN SCAR MK 16(5,56mm),the M-4 A1 or the HK-416 would make much more sence to me...I was under the understanding that the MK 17 would be use in a niche roll...
