Its a beautiful thing!
The F-35 is just a beautiful thing....
Like an old girlfriend that doesn't want anything to do with you but sex...
Like Ford Pickup Trucks with suspension lifts...
Like a personally customized AR-15.
Yeah the F-35, even during pit tests is a beautiful thing!
Yes it’s a beautiful plane, but, I don’t think I’ll never get use to the canopy tilting forward like it does!
ReplyDeleteYou missed the most important item in those pics....
ReplyDeletePOSITIVE PROOF of 4xAAM capability.
was 4 aam capability ever in doubt? i think it was the 6 aam that people are saying won't happen.
ReplyDeleteThere was one individual, who shall remain nameless, that despite all the LM & JPO statements on IOC capability claimed that because I (nor anyone else) could not show him a launcher then it was a post-IOC plan and not an IOC capability.
ReplyDeleteHmm.. Not disputing the 4xAAM capability, but these are just pit tests right? Just one step in the testing process. They may find issues in other phases that limit 4xAAMs. Or they may not.
ReplyDeleteThis key thing with my comment is that the hardware exists and is now irrefutable.
ReplyDeleteFor the longest time, there was one particularity "slow" individual who screamed to the heavens that there could not be 4 internal AAMs because they had not started work on a specific launcher for the A2G station. Myself and others postulated that they would simply add an adapter to the existing LAU-147, which is what it looks like they did.
As to later findings, that is always the case. I was more concerned withe the plan for 4 and the hardware to support it.
So is a white elephant.
ReplyDeleteAhhh. Pit tests. Long boring days getting the telemetry to work and camera positions calibrated all for a moment or two of action. LIke staging a boring movie scene. Critical to the process and interesting to watch in slo-mo afterwards (the first time).
ReplyDeleteBrings back many memories.
