Texas DPS fully militarizes.

Looks like law enforcement has become fully militarized.  I would prefer the US Navy operating in these water than see law enforcement take on this military role.  Defense of a nations border IS a military responsibility.

  1. Dumb. Why is my state funding a small navy when we have a coast guard, border patrol, homland security and the actual navy. I don't like the idea of law enforcement having 240bravo machine guns, next thing those boats will have .50 cal and mk19's. It's irritating.

  3. slippery slope my friend, a slippery slope. let me put it like this. i know how an occupying force looks and acts and we don't want any parts of that....and thats where this is going to lead.

  4. oh and let me add that its beyond funny that there are less than 100 AQ members in Afghanistan but we have over 100,000 troops to take care of them and the taliban. we're using a sledgehammer to chase mice. that's coming to a city near you ... maybe not in your lifetime but in your childrens if this keeps up.

  5. ah something about posse comitas makes border security a DHS mission (not that they are doing it all that well).

And while Texas DPS funding is an issue down there, they are cops and presumably doing LE? I would agree about MGs onboard (though same as on USCG small boats), but I do NOT know what they are going up against, do you? I mean I heard the cartels are well armed? Cop said they need to be better armed to which I agree.

Its all in how they use the boats and weapons~
