M22 Light Tank.

A light tank, designed to be transported by glider and able to support Para-Troopers in the attack.

They got it done in WWII and it went by the name of the M22.  Read about it at the "World War Two Vehicle Site".

  1. Is it that hard to do it again? It makes more sense than most programs in the US Army today...the JAGM ,new carbine, new pistol, the 80 tons GCV...all thing they dont need...
The US Army badly needs a new Scout helicopter,a light weight tank and a replacement for the M-113.
But we have to remenber that the army needed 10 years to improve the M-4 to M-4A1 and onother 10 years to field the Carl Gustav to regular units...So im not going to hold my breath on this one...

  2. totally agree. i don't know what happened but we lost some of the imagination that those that came before us had. maybe its too soft an existence. maybe its the lack of a credible enemy. maybe its just what happens with the advance of tech, but stuff we once did in months is now taking years.
