Hey gents.
Consider this another heads up on street dangers.
You think marijuana legalization is awesome? You think that its less dangerous than alcohol? You see no problem with it?
Think again. Law Enforcement bulletins state something that should worry anyone in a state that has legalized the drug and even those in states that consider marijuana as a "kiddie" drug.
The street creeps are mixing marijuana with more potent drugs. LSD and the like. When law enforcement makes contact with these individuals the assumption is that they're just dealing with a pot head when in fact they're dealing with someone that is being propelled by some of the most powerful narcotics on this planet.
If you're approached, confronted and then engaged by a so called "pot head," be aware. You might be facing a 110 pound junkie that has the strength of the Incredible Hulk and won't feel pain and won't stop until he gets whatever it is he's after.
Your life, your wallet, your girlfriend...whatever it is he's after he won't respond like a normal individual.
Make sure its two the chest, the face gets the rest.
Get training, get in shape and get gunned up.
NOTE: I was thinking about Lane's response to this article and the other guy's too. Be advised. THIS IS NOT A JUDGEMENT ON DRUG LEGALIZATION. Its suppose to be a warning to those of you that might encounter someone that appears to be smoking weed. Whether its a street scene, apartment complex or some guy in the woods, this is a warning that all might not be as it appears. You might be up against someone taking LSD or another powerful drug into their body. Be careful is all I was ATTEMPTING to say.

Just pointing something: legalization does not mean letting it slip out of control. I'd propose that legalization implies more control than currently available. There are less controls to get a bag of pot than a 6-pack.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Ferran
I agree with shugyosha. If it were legal, then you should only buy it from legal sources (eg R.J. Reynolds). On the other hand, though, you're right too solomon, if you're going to get it from street junkies, well you get what's coming to you.
ReplyDeleteFrankly it's none of my business what other people do on their property as long as they're not hurting someone else. Drugs should be legal on libertarian grounds, if nothing else.
ReplyDeleteEconomically it's beyond idiotic for this nation to foot the bill to arrest, prosecute, and incarcerate millions of citizens because tens of millions want to do drugs AND additionally lose all the tax income if it were legal and taxed.
The notion we need to worry about pot heads is a tad silly. The vast majority of violent crimes are committed by people with alcohol in their system. Pot heads tend to sit around and not bother others.
We have all kinds of legal drugs in this nation that are quite dangerous and kill significant numbers of people both directly and indirectly, and this includes alcohol. Hell sugar is far more dangerous than pot.
If pot really were dangerous I'd still want it to be legal. It's none of my damn business if you want to get high, as long as you're not hurting someone else. Moreover, more people legally killing themselves would help the gene pool. I'm not against the Nanny state for some issues and not others but rather against the entire notion. If gay people want to get married, do drugs, invite over prostitutes, and kill themselves it's none of my business and all that behavior should be legal as long as minors aren't involved and nobody is hurting someone else.
nice tirade but the point was this. people are mixing marijuana with LSD and other heavy duty drugs to evade arrest on traffic stops and such. this wasn't about the legality of weed, it was to warn people not to assume that the idiot you see smoking what appears to be dope on the street is actually just smoking dope. it could be mixed and you might be about to face a skinny superman that will take you out when a normal man would be on his back crying for mercy.
ReplyDeletei hope that tirade felt good but it totally missed the point.
Well I certainly didn't intend to write a tirade and if that's how it came off I'm sorry about that. To your specific point you're not really going to see exactly what someone puts in their body so good advice not to assume anything. There was some drug people were taking in the 80's that made them very strong, I don't remember which, and I'm sure there are others like that.
DeleteNow being aware of all that is a good idea but I'd suggest what you're much more likely to run into is someone acting aggressively because they've been drinking. The main thing, in my view, is to be aware of behavior. The stoner with his shoulders hunched forward isn't going to get my attention as much as someone loud and postured up.
Dope might be mixed, yes. So can a beer. The same way that people dressed alcohol in unmarked bottles and such. But, as I tried to express some posts ago, you don't clue on externals. Hash, skin colour, gangsta clothes... Pretty visible, pretty obvious, but also a nice way to get overterrified of the kid next door while a true predator walks right into your space, not even bothering to disguise what you're not watching for.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I do not care what people put into their bodies (unless I feel some empathy / pain). I care what they do around them. There's addicts out there who wouldn't harm anyone but themselves [*] and there's "normals" who'll rip you to pieces. I prefer to look for other indicators [+].
Take care.
[*] Fat chance. Addiction itself is ruining everything around. I know.
[+] Also, rolling tobacco has become kind of popular, here, which means you have to smell. So, it starts getting too complicated.

I understand the concept of camouflage, A wanna be gangsta is most likely to be encountered and most likely to assault to rob or just kill and disable a person.
If I saw a person approaching me with a shaved head and KKK, H8, 88 tattooed and such I would expect trouble. I intend to still profile a man dressed in a suit attitude, body language, their walk the way they look and where.
Drugs? hell.
I don't care what people do either, I guess you could say "What difference does it make?" It's not what these folks do with their bodies that's to be feared it's what they do to others bodies while intoxicated.
I do not mind them partying hardy but I do not wish to have a loved one killed for their hardy party.
It's not only camo, I'm trying to say.
DeleteIt's something I remember as a kid and I'm seeing again these days. My wife is a high school teacher, public school, in a high with 95% plus of immigration. To the average Jane/Joe most of those kids ping hard. They have a lot of the externals (boisterous as teens are, a tad of gangsta --it hasn't reached Spain as hard, but it has--, "weird" languages, skin colour...). While they do have the odd bad case [*], most of them are just kids.
I've seen a _lot_ of similar kids get the evil eye by people overworried of externals while half a dozen of pickpockets watched around, not bothering to "tone down" their signal because people were looking at those uncouth youths. It's camo, in a way, but it not _them_ doing it, they just use it.
"it's what they do to others bodies while intoxicated."
Or while they're sober [+]. Or intoxicated with legal means. Or in any other state I might not even know of. Fuck with your own brain at your leisure. *Pretend* to fuck with my people and the door opens.
First rule of the Unfight Club: the family has supper together.
I don't pretend one of those sitcom scenes, but *no*one* endangers that. Drunk, high or sober. Fringe or centre. Outsider or ourselves. The rest is decoration.
I'm sorry if I sound a bit sanctimonious. It's one of my themes. I'm up to _here_ with people saying things on the tune of "you've been _where_?" while they open themselves to pain from predictable sources.
Take care.
[*] And even so, not as serious as she's seen other places, just veering to the wrong wind.
[+] I don't have statistics, but I think rape cases I've known were all without chemical influence.

I don't care if he's white or black, stripped or polka-dott'd. There are about half a dozen of *hard*, *clear* indicators (and they miss at least two) that can't be explained with a "hey, that's how I was born!" (or "that's how we do things back home", unless you're home is a rather interesting place). And I plead guilty of watching the tracks often, myself.
Take care.
i am so amazed at how you keep running back to race on this issue of profiling. me and Zebra are talking about behaviors.
Deleteif your behavior indicates that you're a thug, if your dress indicates that you're a hoodlum, if your behavior indicates that you would like to participate in criminal activity then its a person that should be watched.
sorry, but that's just normal. another thing. with you focusing so much on the racial aspect of this instead of behavioral as me and Zebra have continued to point out, then what you're really indicating is the possibility that YOU have issues with race.
not us.
all this is suppose to do is be an alert on issues on the streets of America. i wanted to give readers a heads up on bulletins that are being passed around law enforcement circles. don't like it? get up with the FBI and our Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
My apologies.
DeleteFerran
NO! don't apologize. there is no need for that. two guys with a difference of opinion doesn't mean that either of us should back off our positions.
DeleteYOU STICK TO WHAT YOU BELIEVE DUDE!
I'm sticking to what I believe.
Don't mean I'm mad at ya. DOn't mean I hate ya. Just means I disagree. Come hard with your views. I will too.
Sol is speaking truth, pot can be packed and shipped in the same containers as bug poison. You most likely will just get pot that has crossed the border somewhere packed in Seven dust or weed and feed, kill bugs and feed.
ReplyDeleteBro chi or Manny from down on the block may accidentely sell Scooter what he thought was the bag of just pot instead Scoot unknowingly get PCP or Meth.
Of course that's scooter's prerogative and his good or bad luck as the case may be. However Joe flatfoot with two kids and a wife does not need to die or be injured because of Scooter Bro Chi/Manny's mistake. I recollect a fellow got his face eaten from some clowns bath salts excursion.I am sure Zombie brains meant to get high to feel good not maim and get killed, be careful when dealing with any stopped and intoxicated people most are out having fun, some are psychotic on drugs.
If pot were legal, people would be buying it from Walmart, not a back alley.
ReplyDeletePeople can mix pcp into a tobacco cigarette as easily as a pot one.
