just passin it along. i thought it was interesting. besides. stealth tech is becoming more mainstream. when you see it in naval applications then you know that the basics are pretty much known worldwide. sooner or later a smaller country will develop it. i don't know if Iran is just boasting (probably) but its gonna happen sooner or later...and one of these smaller countries will pay the price to develop it fully.
That is a mighty funny looking dihedral bend to those back wings/stablators. Having a top line state of the art stealth fighter is grand, having the pilot whose skill turns this airplane into a real fighter is the trick unless Russian volunteers are going to fly them.
It was interesting thanks. I do not think Iran have the technology to develop a proper stealth airplane, besides, is not only the airplane what is important but the electronics. I guess chine is closer to get one. Japan was thinking to develop one http://www.aviationweek.com/Article.aspx?id=/article-xml/AW_10_22_2012_p24-507747.xml but I am not sure if they will or will not do it as they need to spend more money in ships and subs... guess why... ch**a
The wings are so similar to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_Bird_of_Prey
The video shows an RC model flying around, ok, nice job confusing the Iranian fan boys. They are already going completely bananas on how it can out turn an F22...
As a mock up, at first I thought not too bad but as soon as you look at the details, it is a bad job. The cockpit seems cramped and the ergonomics are wrong, the pilot would have a real hard time reaching the center column and not sure how he could reach the throttle. The canopy is distorted and has no seal to close air tight. The inlets are small and have a vertical shape next to the cockpit, there goes your RCS. Wings are very thick and canards are almost as big as the wing. There seems to be no access panels and such...even as a mock up, yet alone an engineering mock up, it doesn't qualify in my book.
As for RCS, I guess, one could say they have the general idea of it in terms of "shaping" but without seeing any proof of computer simulations and anechoic chamber, materials testing, it would appear to me they just put together some angled shapes.
As a regime that is under stress and country under embargo, I think Iran would be better served designing a small trainer-attack plane, kind of like a South Korean A50/T50/F50,it would be a better use of talent and resources. This F313 is just a crude gimmick, a poor attempt at internal propaganda and of little value militarily.
It's not a "fighter" and it ain't a "pilot" seat. It's a passenger seat. Notice there's no throttle?
This is an RC plane. A SUICIDE RC plane. One-way trip to destination. So why the pilot/passenger seat? The canopy should have a camera to record the last few seconds of the flight particularly when the passenger shouts "Allah Akbar" before the death plunge. The video will be used primarily for recruitment purposes.
This is why the canopy is so small. There's no need for a flight helment.
This looks straight out of some kid's history class doodling book
ReplyDeleteI dont know if I should laugh or cry...
It is a mock up, solomon, look at its "skin". It is just a joke. And the inlets looks like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_F-105_Thunderchief

that's what i was looking for...the bird of prey! i knew it reminded me of something but couldn't put my finger on it.
ReplyDeleteIran just barely hucked a monkey into "space"... I doubt this eyesore poses any real threat.
ReplyDeletenot even trying to remotely label this as a threat but it does point that they're trying to break the stealth code.
ReplyDeleteCouple of quick comments:

Hey, I built that same model kit back in the '80s. I give them props for better decal application.
ReplyDeleteYup, It's just a CosPlay mockup of a Baka bomb.
ReplyDeleteWhat? I thought for sure I'd find some "ZOMG F-22 SUX now! CONFIRMED!" idiocy.
