Gun confiscation bill in Missouri

Gun owners always said it was about confiscation and this news from Missouri proves it...
Missouri Democrats are trying to rid the state of assault weapons and high-capacity gun magazines.
Democrats in the state House have proposed a bill that would force gun owners to either surrender or destroy weapons including semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines and semi-automatic pistols with a fixed magazine that can shoot more than 10 rounds before being reloaded.
Ammunition-feeding devices that can hold more than 10 rounds also would be banned. Owners also could send their weapons to another state instead of surrendering or destroying them and would have 90 days after the bill’s passage to make a decision.
It occurs to me that the Democrats might be sowing the seeds of their own mid term election slaughter.

Payroll taxes are biting.  Gas is at record highs.  Unemployment is still high.  Obamacare is going to give everyone sticker shock.  Sequestration is going to pummel an already weak economy....

  1. I thought Colorado was bad. The election must of gone to their heads, because this stuff is bat-shit crazy, even for them.

  2. When there was a big mid-term turnout for Republicans in 2010, many Republicans starting meeting with lobbyists, etc., via the American Legislative Exchange coalition(ALEC). It's why we saw a co-ordinated push against trade unions and public employees on Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Florida. It was an overreach by the GOP in many of those states, had mixed results and served to galvanize trade union members

Much as the anti-union bs was due to ALEC, this new wave of legislation is most likely due to a group or groups like the Violence Policy Center, Brady Campaign, etc. co-ordinating with sympathetic legislators. It's why so many of the different state bills have similar language or provisions.

We should punish all anti-2A legislators by unemploying them after the 2014 mid-terms e.g. Find the sponsors of those bills and run pro-2A candidates in primaries, find the swing districts of supporters of these bills and heavily support their primary and general election opponents.

But unless we start deepening our grassroots and not relying only on partisan politics, this issue will keep coming up.

  3. a couple of things are gonnna happen to make all this a bad memory. one the economy is going to go back into recession either from sequester or from obamacare sticker shock along with gas prices. next you're going to have this big push and its going to stall the enter obama agenda and that's gonna allow people to take a look at all that he's proposed.

once people see what it costs its going to cause even more shock. and eventually the markets are going to body slam the us treasury and that's gonna be even more painful.
