It is a floatation kit. I didn't know it also. Since the modernization of M-113 increased the overall weight (new engine, gear box, external fuel tanks) and the Brazilian Marines Corps wants a full-floating vehicle, this kit helps that capability.

ReplyDeleteIsrael Military Industries does it. The original m-113's weight was about 27.000 lbs (12.300kg) and now, with new features, the vehicle weighs 33.070 lbs (15.000 kg).
