The longer this gun debate drags on the more alarmed people are becoming. The left laughs at the concerns of some (myself included) that the bill being brought before the Senate would lead to a gun registry and then to confiscation. I would point to what New York, and Conneticut has done, but that's besides the point.
Groups/People are starting to actively plan to resist government Law Enforcement Agencies/Personnel. Check this out from USCROW.
As of 2013, constitutional Americans have witnessed an increase in hostile posturing by the federal government. These hostile actions were clearly outlined by the CMF Website Administrator in the article ‘The American Government continues to target Preppers’. One of the most notable actions outlined in this article was the purchase of 2,700 MRAP Light Armored Vehicles by the Department of Homeland Security. A purchase warranted as unnecessary and irrational by seasoned military and police personnel. This single purchase of MRAPs is understandably unnerving for those in the survival community.Go to their website the read the posting. I will say that its well researched and although they get a few facts about MRAPs wrong, it does give a good overview of their capabilities and vulnerabilities.
Its high-time Americans wake up and realize our nation is under a continual threat of tyranny. Now let’s step off the soapbox and get informed. When and if (when stressed more than if) the federal government uses light-armored vehicles against Americans, we will need to be fully informed prior to their use. You will need to know what an MRAP is, its capabilities, and its weaknesses. This guide will assist you and your survival group.
Long story short, the "change" merchants in the nations capital have forgotten something basic. People are concerned about the economy but they're focusing on anything but. Next they have forgotten that all the social change that they've succeeded at might be cheered by some, but to others this change is disruptive.
People are reacting. They're skipping restocking on medications, not eating out, saving on gas etc...to buy guns and ammo instead.
The public is armed. Well armed. Now we're seeing plans where some people are into planning ACTIVE resistance to Law Enforcement Officials. These aren't gang members, outlaw bikers but regular people.
America is a powder keg and those in DC don't seem to get it.
I have been observing the US gun culture/prepper community for about 18 months. What I find interesting is that for every "nut job" there are at least a half dozen with their heads screwed on the right way. If Afghans with some support from Iran and Pakistan can hinder the US what about a people with access to everything from firearms to mobile comms to lathes to 3D printers in an even larger territory that encompasses everything from wilderness to dense urban streets? My feeling is that for the most part Washington like many Western capitals is on auto-pilot. They are beyond just not listening or not caring, they have become completely cut off from reality. They are like those chained to the walls of Plato cave only with their eyes closed. Your generals may be on message with Washington but I don't think the men under their command particular care for Washington. They follow orders because the current system is intact. What happens when the rank file see Washington as the enemy they have sworn to defend against? I have said here before I was worried that NRA membership didn't swell into the 10 millions after Sandy Hook. That Americans would rather buy ARs and 5.56 at inflated than spend $34 on an NRA membership. But I have since realised that the purchase and ownership of "property" (a very loaded word in US culture) is to the American the purest political act. That protesting and literal politicking is alien to the American spirit that prefers real action when events have reached the tipping point. Sincere threats, be they vocalised directly or that simple indirection transaction of simply buying a gun, are the way of the true American. "Don't tread on me!" really isn't a catchee slogan it is visceral. 18 months ago I thought the latter now I know the former. Forget opinion poles or joining lobbying groups or the old media. The true measure of the American political bent is the sales of firearms, the round clock production of firearms and ammunition, and the silence and absence of empty political platitudes from the silent majority.
