Things to do now...before they try another run at gun control....

There are a few things that gun guys need to do now...before they take another run at gun control.  Of course that means before the 2014 elections (the political landscape could change dramatically depending on how the immigration amnesty bill turns out).

Ammo.  Buy it at normal prices, not the inflated nonsense that its at now.  But every time you make a trip to buy groceries, buy a box or two.
My thoughts on weaponry is ... evolving.  I'm starting to veiw the idea that if its possible to settle on no more than 3 types of weapon types it might an ideal.  I'll get into it more in the future but I'm beginning to wonder if those people that are into home defense might be making a mistake by choosing the 5.56 for the task might be missing the boat.  Regardless.  Get them while you can.  Weapons that is.
Parts kits.  Get them.  Learn your weapons and learn to fix them yourself.  Certified Glock armorers courses are rather inexpensive.  Becoming familiar with your AR is simplicity itself.  Most people probably either can or know someone that can walk them through building one from a stripped lower receiver.  Get the parts now.

That's about it when it comes to gun control.  The other stuff you already know to do now.  Get in shape.  Physically and financially.  Become self sufficient to the greatest extent possible. I've labeled it as a 2014 goal.  The reality is that its a life time project.  Get started.

  1. Lowers, uppers, bolt carrier groups, and barrels are the key items.

I would also get any all form 4 items like suppressors and short barrels because time is going to run out for approval.

  2. Good advice, Solomon

I'll add this for those who don't live in California: protect your freedoms and use them to your advantage, lest the plague of limp-wristed, hand-wringing, nanny-state whining about firearms "safety" that is pouring out of the Dems in Sacramento spreads beyond our borders. And if you have any doubts about what is happening here, soon I'll need to pass a background check just to get a "permit" to buy ammo.

Please take your tourist dollars and business investments to states where they understand what it means to be an American. California has lost its way.

    2. I'm sure we'll have to be tagged and radio-collared before too long and my guess is the online channels will be closed.

  3. Well as an assault rifle or sub, what do you suggest? I was just sticking to my pistols, but I'm beginning to think maybe I need to rethink that train of thought(I really didn't want anything big with babies in the house).

    1. I've been toying with this idea for awhile now. I'm no longer convinced that the 5.56mm is effective against Americans with either our size and strength (for the fit) or our size and weight (for those that are not). add to it the number of optics that are available now...mixed with the idea of ammo shortages and wanting to maximize my supply, limit my logistics tail and basically neck down to effective calibers I'm going with my Glock 26 with glock 19 mag adapters for concealed carry. full size G19 for when shit hits the fan. i'm going to get a tax stamp to make a short barrel rifle that accepts glock 18 mags and i'm going to dump my 5.56 platforms and standardize and stock up as much as possible on 300 blackout. (i'm not gonna sell the 5.56, just not going to rely on it as my primary rifle). my thinking is going like this. remember the LA riots and Hurricane Katrina? combat occurred at close distance. motorist getting dragged out of cars. people defending their houses and stores from rooftops firing at people no more than 100 yards away. that's well within the distance of a 9mm carbine. when civilization and civility returns you might have to justify shootings ...gonna be hard to justify shooting someone 300 yards away ya know! but even better is the fact that the 300 blackout shoots as soft as a 5.56, and hits harder than a AK-47. plus i've got mags that fit 3 firearms the G19 mags for the G19 and G26 and G18 mags for the G19 and 9mm Carbine.
