Blast from the past. X-4 Experimental Tailless Airplane.

This neat little airplane gets overlooked when it comes to the X-plane era.  That's a shame because the engineers that made it work did it with a slide rule, a pack of cigarettes, eyeglasses and dogged determination. These guys were nerds but they were cool.  It boggles the mind that the computing power that put the man on the moon is dwarfed by a decent laptop today.  We should be ashamed.  Read about the X-4 here.  And especially here.
