How do you stop a drug dealer in a car in Brazil? Helicopter Gunships!

Wow.  Just plain wow.

Brazil's Police Special Operations don't play!  I MUST get more info on the BOPE.

BOPE, is an especial unity from the military police...
This chooper, is a Helibras Esquilo (Eurocopter Ecureuil) from Civil Police.
These shots were made by the assault rifles of the cops on board.

  2. Its explains why they have positioned chopper before the car and not just strafed from behind, but this situation as a whole looks like complete madness.

On the video there is at least one man walking by the street and he was caught in the fire from chopper, bullet impact flashes were in 1-2 meters from him possibly even hit him. When they moving side by side and shooting some buildings appears and close the line of fire for a moment, and it seems some shots hit the buildings, what if some bullets flew into windows and injured someone?

Or this ppl on the chopper utterly insane and have complete impunity, or situation "on the ground" so deteriorated that police don't risk send a cars in the favels to do the job.

  3. Te fact that they were using assault rifles actually made by blood temperature come down from boiling to just steaming after watching this, because I was thinking "Jesus, if they're using .50 cal or 20mm rounds then there is gonna be a TON of collateral damage and likely innocent casualties from this." At least the odds of them killing a bystander are less if a 5.56 or 7.62 round is being used. But still, as Twixter said they were spraying bullets everywhere in a densely populated urban area.

Also...did they loose the guy at the end?
