In defense of Brazil Police Helicopter shooting at fleeing car...

In 2009, Brazilian Police in Rio De Janiero had one of their helicopters shot down by drug dealers.

Fast forward to the video I posted yesterday and you find Brazilian  Police shooting at a fleeing car.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but the police in that country are dealing with a threat that we (meaning those of us in the United States) cannot begin to comprehend.  Think about it.  When Brazilian Police buy armored cars its because they ACTUALLY NEED armored cars.  They wear helmets and body armor because they face foes that are equipped with real deal, 100 percent actual and factual assault rifles...battle field level assault rifles.

We have SWAT teams in major cities that might get called out for questionable raids against mom and pop just so that those SWAT teams can justify their existence.

Brazil has Police Special Operations Battalions because they go up against gangs of drug dealers that number in the 100's if not 1000's in built up areas surrounding their major cities.

I still want to know more but this one time I'm willing to cut the police slack.

  1. I don't care if they lose a helicopter. That's the risk.

When you start killing innocent bystanders, you start creating the next generation of criminals/terrorists/enemies because their relatives lose all sympathy for the police and will start to side with the criminals.

"Sorry we killed your family member, Mr. Ronaldo, it is regrettable. You'll be pleased to know that we caught the criminals"

    1. ordinarily i'd be right there with you...but they're fighting real deal drug cartels that show capabilities that place them above petty criminals and on the level of a small scale insurgency. it could be argued that Brazil is in the midst of fighting a guerilla war within its borders. the difference is that they aren't seeking to overthrow the government, just to continue criminal activity.

additionally it could be stated that democracies aren't well equipped to deal with the evolving threat. we're set up to deal with criminals on an individual base but when you start talking oganizations then you're talking about an entirely different breed of animal that our systems just don't know how to work.

  2. Sol/Para
This isnt like LAPD SWAT raiding a drug house.
Its like the US Cavalry raiding Indian Country...

For all intents and purposes, the favellas are outside the control of the Brazillian government, the police wouldnt turn up if you phoned them to say your neighbour has stolen your lawn mower, for example

    1. totally agree which is why i cut the police slack in this case. when you have to send in your Marines to battle drug dealers you're messing with a type of animal that the west hasn't seen before...we will before long but not so far.

  3. It is coming. here in Texas the Mexican cartels are silently moving in further north. They are not making their normal statement killings yet, but we are seeing the Zetas in major cities. Oh yeah ICE can't deport them thanks to Obama. Guess we will need to find a car load of hacked up American bodies before ICE will be allowed to help out local police.

    1. yeah i've been hearing that. the idea of that shit moving up here is frightening. literally. and with every new amnesty you always get that segment of the population with them. the inner cities will be blood baths. we're going to see the same thing and by the time DC wises up it'll be too late. they'll try and put the army on the border but the infection will probably see martial law declared in quite a few major cities. Houston. Miami. Chicago. LA. and Phoenix will all probably be dead meat and no go zones.

  4. The difference is that Texan citizens, unlike the law abiding Brazilian and Mexican citizens, are armed.
