Son of a fucking BITCH!

Marines Put Marine Personnel Carrier On Shelf Due To Budget Constraints
The Marine Corps is putting the Marine Personnel Carrier, the complement to the Amphibious Combat Vehicle, on ice, and it may not be resurrected for 10 years, according to service, industry and congressional sources.

Well of course. When you have money going into a gold-plated USMC tac-air (MV-22, F-35 and the 53K), those ground elements (the reason why we have a Marine Corps) will suffer.
CDR Salamander writes that you should never blog mad.

Internet etiquette experts say you should count to 10 before you press the publish button.

I've counted to 100 and I'm left with this.

THAT SON OF A BITCH AMOS HAS GOT TO GO.  The USMC is now the funding source for the Air Wing?  We have two aviation commandants and a logistics bubba.  No one is looking out for the Ground Combat Element.

The Marine Corps as we know it is no more.  It is aviation centric and Amos will go down in history as one of the most ineffective and misguided leaders the Marines have ever known.  He needs to be throat punched.

  1. Im not surprised, air planes are always a priority over everything else. That's why the Air Force has the largest budget. They want jets and helos doing all the work in the Pacific. The combat operations in Africa and Afghanistan dont have large vehicles anymore so they could care less and would rather upgrade current vehicles. That's just how I see it.

    1. true enough and logistics are getting the big green, fluorescent Marine Corps weiner too. my issue is that we once had a Commandant to advocate for each group...now we have two aviation guys and a logistics guy in the top three spots. no one to speak for the combat arms.

  3. That is something that I concur with, the division has always been the centerpiece of a MEF, I would like to get a new AAV as well, just to keep the 1803s happy (plus we are embarrassingly behind).

  4. Sorry, I feel your pain but why are you surprised? I mean, you pretty much have been writing about this stuff for awhile now, DoD and services are bending over and dropping their pants to save the F35. They will sacrifice everything to save that program, I have been against the F35 for a few years now so I don't find it surprising at all...

  5. Perhaps Us Arms industry will defeat US army before the next war...
And the thing is the afgha war was lost because the ground wasn't entirely occupy... in contrary of algeria war. Soviets force did better before : I don't understand how somebody can believe that Air force can do the job.

  6. Marines get the F-35 and the Tilt Rotor, the idea is, if the Marine's need an MPC they can get them from the Army stryker Brigades or use regular old six by's.
Make do, Improvise, adapt and overcome.
Such as the time right at the start of WW2 when the Marines equipment was dated back to the WW1 era of weapons and vehicles and aircraft.
WW1 saw Marines using Army uniforms in infantry combat.
    It's the Marine Corps way.
