    1. the artist describes it as being a mix between the SkyCrane and the CH-53...he said when he did it, he decided to remove the fuselage from the CH-53 and added the twin stabilizers and rudder system to make it a bit more stylish. it would never fly but it looks cool.

  3. I'll bet you some engineer at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut is already looking at building a CH-53 like that or a Tilt-rotor CH-53. They probably keeping it in the black from prying eyes.

    1. Biggest problem: "torque"
      They'll need to come up with a way to counter the torque with something like counter-rotating rotors or something in the boom.
      Second biggest problem: airflow around the fuselage. All that 'width' pushes back against rotor wash down, and what width you have has to permit the air to flow around it as cleanly as possible.
      The SciFi gearhead in me say 'cool looking'. The engineer screams 'wrong!'
