Quote of the day.

The prospect of unlawful behavior within the commandant’s office is of deep concern....Jones asked the IG to be diligent in its review of Weirick’s complaint and do what’s necessary to “restore dignity to the commandant’s office.”
Rep. Walter Jones during an interview with the Marine Corps Times.

  1. I think it might be difficult to remove Amos from office. From what I've heard he kisses up to the right people and plays nice with the politicians. The House and Senate like a CMC that is controllable and caters to their needs or supports the programs that are important to them, such as the F-35. Amos simply plays the political game well. Unless they can find another Marine general similar to him, I find it hard to believe that this scandal will be enough to oust Amos.

    1. i don't see how they cannot remove him. he has no credibility inside the Marine Corps. when i tell you he is hated, i'm not being dramatic. the guy is really not liked.

what intrigues is if this leads to other cases of illegality.

the more i think about it the more i truly believe he has to go. besides. the House is a bear and some of those Tea Party/Libertarians want the budget slashed, defense cuts too and this will put blood in the water. who's gonna save them if Rep Jones is able to garner support? the Dems? they want cuts

this could be a watershed moment. its like alot of things. this one incident could have ripple effects that can't be predicted.

By the way, do you know if this story about Amos is true. Was he really taped lying about the capabilities of the MV-22?

    3. Sol won't now anything about that. But he will be more than happy to speculate about readiness rates and the investigation, both of which he knows nothing about.

Even if Sol is a Marine that doesn't suddenly make him an encyclopedia of all information pertaining to the Marine Corps. Nor does he speak to the CMCs credibility or the entire Marine corps' opinions of the CMC. He is not our spokesperson, nor is he some kind of oracle. He has trouble grasping basic Marine Corps concepts.

He is one guy sharing his opinion, and his opinion of other opinions. You can ask other Marines and they will have different opinions. Sol is not a mirror like reflection of the Marine Corps and thank god for that, because he is so far removed and out of the loop he was posting face book comments to "prove" his point, and when this was pointed out he started censoring comments.

To borrow one of his words he seems "Scared" of anyone who disagrees with him, or even asks basic questions.
