As long as they can conduct all the necessary ground based training sounds like a great idea. Also the idea of the Marines operating the landing craft instead of the Navy I think also has a lot of merit.
agreed. but the Royal Marines operate quite differently and thats what makes it a necessity. they'll launch their small landing craft and it can operate independently for like 7 days. it also has protection against the elements....its actually pretty cool.
Can you post something about that landing craft? I have never even heard of that, but I am one of those new Marines that has spent far more time in a desert than on ship.
