What the fuck just happened? Silva knocked out????

Oh SHIT!

Did I really see that?

Did Silva get knocked out like a rookie facing a pro?

I'm not believing this!

  1. He didn't respect his opponent, didn't keep his hands up to protect himself, and probably was a few years too old for his reflexes to keep letting him dodge strikes as he's done over the years in other fights. It's sad we'll not be given a chance to see what might have happened had he actually chosen to fight, he might very well still have the belt.

  2. America has some of the best boxers and wrestlers in the world...it was just a matter of time and training before someone catch Anderson...
When i try to spar doing head movement like Silva i allways get punched in the nose...with was just a matter of time until the odds catch him...
Still,Silva can come back and prove us that it was just bad luck...

    1. i think he's done. he's been hinting at retirement for long time and he ain't exactly young. i'd be willing to bet he walks away. a slight blemish on his record but he can open a dojo in Brazil and make a mint. hell he can make it exclusive to training only professional fighters and B.O.P.E. and military and he'll probably make more money doing that than he could in the ring with less wear and tear on his body.

    2. oh i tried that head movement stuff too and got lit up like a christmas tree. that takes crazy quickness. i'd bet only 1 guy out of every million can pull it off and from the fight last night those skills are definitely perishable.

  4. Silva is really good at rolling with punches. The problem for Silva is that Weidman is an unpredictable striker. The blows that took him down we left, right, right backfist, left. He didn't expect that backfist after the right and rolled right into it. Watch it again: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LO4CD5j5oXo/UdjwBrm2vmI/AAAAAAAApXU/JBaGpptHMW4/s1600/8.gif

  5. Silva forgot he was 38. He didn't realize he'd slowed down. Silva from 3 years ago could have pulled that off. He's been fighting old guys last couple years -- like Sonnen. But Silva at 38 is too slow now to do that to a Weidman peaking at 29.
