Uh. Wow. I don't know what happened before and from the sounds of things the driver did something squirrely to catch her attention....but....You would think that LEOs would be fully aware that a certain percentage of the public is actually trying to instigate situations where they can be made to look like pure jackasses on tape (the open carry crusaders I believe like pushing confrontations with police).
Surveillance State USA. It goes both ways.
Side Note: I'm surprised that LAPD is constantly accused of having a military focus and mindset but they let something as obvious as allowing female patrol officers have hair flowing the way that this officer does. Pinned back and bobbed not for looks sake but for officer safety. If she had to go hands on then she has hair waiting to be grabbed and for her to be yanked around like a rag doll. If the guy was really violent then he could grab that hair, twist her around roll up the window and drive till all that was left was her head banging against his mirror. Totally unsafe and I wonder why they allow it.
Is she still working? She should be fired for this type of unprofessional behavior.
ReplyDeletei once thought this kind of thing was funny and enjoyed the "candid camera" of it all but the more this goes on and the more these guys and girls keep getting caught on tape, i'm beginning to wonder if it isn't a type of arrogance going on.

DeleteMore than a few times working in offices I have seen women through tantrums and then have their behaviour officially excused because of the female temperament or physiology. That you have somebody riding around a population centre armed to the teeth with a short fuse isn't an idea that comforts me. Many police are arrogant, in a way it is a mechanism that gets them through the day coming into contact with those who for the most part believe themselves to beyond the rules. I understand you will develop a cynical attitude and need to control situations in a way beyond the training. That the depth of training doesn't emphasis legality of stopping, searching, and conversing with the public, the majority of whom are law abiding, that the training doesn't overcome your behaviour suggested the training is in adequate. A soldier is taught things until they become automatic. It seems in the West that the training of police offices is such that once they have been in the field for a few months beyond the perfunctory it goes through the window.

ReplyDeleteThe problem with her and many others is that they feel they wear the cloak of invincibility. She has never had her ass kicked by anyone let alone by someone that want's to do evil. A handful of hair and she's a statistic. As the saying goes, complacency kills.
