In my circles I was taught to do the right thing even when no one was looking. Thats called Integrity. Marines have been killing enemies in OEF/OIF and not doing this, how come this suddenly comes up and its acceptable? In fact it was a Marine that leaked this video in the first place. I'm a Marine and I'm supposed to be OK with this? Sorry fuck that. Even Terminal Lance made fun of these men and rightly so.

I met Amos in a hospital, he isn't blood and guts like Mattis, he is fatherly, he speaks softly and carries a big stick. Mattis talked fiercely and carried a big stick. Its different styles. It turns out there are actually many different types of officers and leaders in the Marine Corps. Who knew?

ReplyDeleteAs for history of War trophies Pelilu saw Marines boiling Japanese dead soldiers heads and saving the skulls to mount on the perimeter or swap for hooch with the Sailors. These acts were in response to the barbarity of the Japanese who cut up dead and wounded GI's Marines and blew up Corpsman attempting to help them.
War contains such, on all sides.
