well that's where the title comes from. i don't know how effective that would be especially in the jungle with all the foliage around. no umph behind the round and it probably would get deflected by the smallest leaf
The M-1 Carbine has the terminal striking power of a .38 Spl round nose lead. It can be improved with frangable rounds, but not by much. Inside 100 yards it can hit a target easy and performs like the .38 spl. Not really that accurate it can keep all it's hits inside a 6" pie plate at 150 yards. The sawed off stock makes this a going to the head/latrine, vehicle driver, or as a back up weapon and is much like carrying a .38 spl auto pistol with a 30 round magazine. Most likely Joe here, collected this weapon from ARVN or PAVN by purchase and trade of MPC, or in the case of Charlie swapping bullets. The sheer number of patches that came from that era are surprising!
