  2. What is that trailing behind the vertical stabilizer? Is that a missile decoy?

  3. Nice bird. The A-400M fits somewhere between the C-130J and the C-17. The A-400M is direct replacement for the C-141B

    1. Which is why the A-400M is nowhere near the level of C-17. It's a direct rival of the C-141B. It beats the C-130J marginally. Though the A-400M is mostly for Air forces who can't afford a C-17 but can afford a C-130J

  4. Ahh, a 250 Million Euro C-130J-30.

Gotta love European defense acquisition. Overpriced, underdeveloped, and decades late.

With this track record, Europe may make a stealth jet by 2040 or so.

  5. Price for one A400M is about €140 million and about $115 for a C-130J. The question is: how do you get a Stryker inside a C-130J? A C-130J can just transport spare parts for an M2/3 Bradley.

Here is a nice article related to the F-35 http://www.casr.ca/ft-dutch-cv9035s-for-ccv.htm - "As a part of the Dutch government's defence funding cuts, (which critics dub "disarmament by F-35") 44 of the Netherlands Army's CV9035NL infantry fighting vehicles will be disposed of." In 2040 the F-35 might be combat ready. How stealth is a F-35 against L-band radar?

  6. You dont, you use a 225M USD ship and move 50 of them, or ship them by train.
