Gizmodo has an article written by Kilcullen that is a confirmation read.
It confirms what most of the people on that read my blog already know. Cities are breeding grounds for violence, the suburbs can become feral and crime is warfare by other means.
Crime is warfare by other means.
I've always thought that the only reason why we haven't already seen outbreaks of massive violence in the US and Europe is because of the social programs. They're keeping a lid on the situation. But one day interest rates will spike, the economy will take another nose dive and all bets are off.
That's when things become fun.
Reminds me of Escape from New York.
ReplyDeleteI think interest rates will be a mega-shock. People tell me they paid double digit mortgage rates back in the 1980's. Imagine us going from the low rates of this year to double digits.
well you hit on it. once rates rise...and they almost have to...you're going to see the economy freeze up. people WILL STOP spending. autos will stay on the lot and houses will go unsold. that's the good news. add to it food inflation and you're going to have a war over resources and the people will support it. but thats still not the bad news. what happens when you have the masses not being able to afford soda and chips? rioting in the streets? if we're lucky. crime will skyrocket, people will dive further into their shell...its a nightmare coming.
DeleteYeah, ain't it grand?? Maybe then that that PO in that shit infested hole will get the message that we're coming for his muslim ass. I'm ready.................
Deletegoddamn it, this thing ate my post.
ReplyDeleteAs a pragmatist, I see merit in his argument and analysis, because it is cheaper to build schools now than prisons later. It is cheaper to invest in transportation infrastructure now than it is to wait until bridges collapse or economic growth is hampered due to clogged roadways.
The question is who is going to pay for it? The current GOP's mantra is "government is bad" and it will never loosen the purse strings for 'more goobermint programs' as long as the current ideologues and donors who run the party are in place. States are running lean and face many of the same "government bad" debates, so they won't be investing in programs. Cities can't raise taxes or they will see middle-class flight to the burbs and faster disintegration.
Sound analysis or not, politically it is an impossibility in the US currently.

ReplyDeleteI see a Yugoslavia event.
ReplyDeleteRaces against races, religions against religions, criminals against all, Gov against Citizens. Citizens dug into fortified towns and villages.
The Gov raiding City and suburbs for supplies, Other nations raiding the coastal areas as pirates.
Once the Feds cannot handle the situation and cannot protect the citizens the States will step in. The United States will break apart into collections of areas that hopefully will be self supporting and able to continue in trade.
Right at this moment there is NO LEADERSHIP in WASHINGTON, D. C. the nation is like a Yankee Clipper at sea, Beautiful to see but the Capt drunk on power is fighting half the crew and all of the passengers, there is no helms person manning rudder and with three sheets to the wind the ship of state heels and rolls like a garbage scow.
We have Biker gangs terrorizing the citizens who are disarmed, the police will not step in even to save a father's life yet the government wants to ban bicycles, Crosses and displays of the Ten Commandments and cancel Christmas. Gov. go ape shit about protecting the children yet push baby killing abortions as a woman's right.
If the Nation goes all Mad Max the first item on the Gov's list is disarm the survivalist and leave them helpless in the face of the biker gangs. who will not be stopped by the LEO who will be busy looting.
Veterans banned from visiting the cemeteries filled with their buddies who fought and died to keep this Nation the way it was intended to be. Blocked from memorials to the same by Government Police, smokey hatted and jack booted.
Hope and Change?
Fo' Shizzle you say? is this actually what Hope and Change meant?
More like Revenge and nation destroying, but after all to anyone who bothered to look that was the real Obama mission.
What a Gorram mess these democRATS and RETARDlican's have made of my country.
Contemptible politicians caring for their own worthless asses at the expense of everyone and everything else.
What comes around, goes around.
news report:
ReplyDeleteTractor-trailer drivers will intentionally clog the inner loop of the Washington, D.C., beltway beginning on the morning of Oct. 11, according to a coordinator of the upcoming "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" rally.
Earl Conlon, a Georgia trucker who is handling logistics for the protest, told U.S. News tractor-trailer drivers will circle the beltway "three lanes deep" as he rides with other participants to Congress to seek the arrest of congressmen for allegedly disregarding the Constitution. The truckers circling I-495 will keep the left lane open for emergency vehicles, Conlon said, but "everybody that doesn't have a supporter sticker on their window, good luck: Nobody in, nobody out." The trucks will be going the 55 mile-per-hour speed limit.
"We are coming whether they like it or not. We're not asking for impeachment, we're asking for the arrest of everyone in government who has violated their oath of office." Conlon cited the idea of a citizens grand jury – meaning a pool of jurors convened without court approval – as the mechanism for indicting the officials. "We want these people arrested, and we're coming in with the grand jury to do it," he said. "We are going to ask the law enforcement to uphold their constitutional oath and make these arrests. If they refuse to do it, by the power of the people of the United States and the people's grand jury, they don't want to do it, we will. ... We the people will find a way."
Conlon and Andrews say Obama committed "treason" by allegedly funneling weapons to al-Qaida-linked rebels in Syria. . .Andrews said last week 3,000 truckers had RSVP-ed to the event, and Conlon says he's now lost count of the number. He says he's receiving around 100 emails a day from prospective participants.
