M18 HellCat Tank Destroyer Review...

I'm doing my World of Tanks game thing (getting my ass kicked on a regular basis) so I setup an alert for my latest ride...the M18 HellCat.  Truck Trends has an unusual take on the subject and its worth a read, if for no other reason as to get a few high rez pics of a great war machine.

  1. The secret to the Hellcat in WoT is remembering that you have NO armor :)

Use it's speed to change positions.

If you want the Hellcat's gun but better armor, go the Jackson route.

    2. Will do... me and my Hellcat :)

The Hellcat has two other bonus goodies, camo and view range. Together with it's speed, I have gotten into great forward positions where the Red Team was spotted totally in the open and got raped by my guys.

Just remember that if you want to keep your cover, don't fire as you lose most of your native camo and any bushes/trees within 15m of your tank when you fire.

Mine caries the gun-rammer, camo net, and binoculars.

btw, install Team-Speak client if you do not already have it.

    3. By the way, Sol, have you decided to spend money yet? I think I started around Tier VI and it did actually help me quite a bit. Buying the right items will give you a good increase in the performance of your tank. Spud has the best mix for the Hellcat!

    1. which brings up the second part of my problem. i have to research that big gun. i'm going into tier 7 battles with a tier 5 gun. yeah it shoots fast but it bounces like there is no tomorrow.

  3. My theory on the Leopard 1 is that it was designed with an American WWII TD in mind.

Light armor, great gun and fast, built in the thousands to respond to breakthroughs.

  4. I have seen a mint condition museum Hellcat. They are beautiful. I wouldn't want to be in one though.
