the guy was tackled to the ground. the house was busted up in the process. we don't know the background on it but overall i'd say its fabulous. consider a typical US police response. snipers on a roof, probably a missed shot killing the victim and then the rest of the tac team would open up on the stunned kidnapper....this was ballsy but worked.
