I don't even know how I ended up on this site. I was searching for info on armored vehicle programs worldwide.
But the question has to be asked. How do you let a growth (or whatever it is) get so out out of control like that? Poor hygiene? Some type of body reaction to an infection? I just don't know. If you could explain the mechanics of a pimple that freaking big I'd love to know.
look that stuff up on You Tube dude. It's like pornography.
ReplyDeleteAs you well know You Tube is the richest video "How To" resource on the planet...everything from auto mechanics to popping zits can be found on it.
I was trying to do some research on wound debridement and wound packing along with abcess drainage (I'm a former USN Corpsman and somewhat of a backwoods medic) I've never seen coconut-sized zits bursting like ripe tomatoes before....
hey awesome. i'm trying to put together a little medical kit for emergencies. its a bit more than what we carried and then i realized that you guys took care of all that stuff so our little pouches were mostly for show....anyway back to the vid. that guy has to have some kind of major league infection going on right? i mean that has to be more than just an ingrown hair right?
Deletequite honestly the only reason why i posted it is because i would never have believed, at least until i saw that shit, that any human (and i'm including primitives in this) would allow something like that to grow on their body without attempting to do something about it. another thing, he's overseas...i think...but i couldn't pick up on the language being spoken.
he's probably got a staph infection that went haywire...that kind of infected abscess so close to the sinus cavities, eyes, face, jugular vein etc. could very well go systemic causing sepsis (blood poisoning) and kill a person in a situation where there is no medicine, hygiene, antibiotics....or medics.
DeleteIt's not actually a pimple. It's a sebaceous cyst.
ReplyDeleteHygiene usually isn't the issue, its often caused by a blocked sweat gland, similar to a blackhead. The oil has nowhere to go, so it forms a pocket under the skin, making little more than a painless bump.
In this case, however, the cyst became infected, likely due to constant attempts to "pop" it. Usually, the contents of a sebaceous cyst are thick and waxy, this is obviously more fluid and pus.
It's usually pretty easy to excise these things, but it needs to be done in a clean environment by people that know what they're doing. In this case, it looks like they needed to dig out the entire cyst, otherwise it would probably keep coming back.
