Is this dude wearing a bra???

Predator Intelligence first picked up on this and I have to say that it really looks like it.  Is this a "thing" in the Middle East now?

Dubai's ruler, Mohammed Bin Rashid al-Maktoum (L), attended the air show where the deal was announced [AFP]

  2. I'm not up on Arab men's fashion. But if I had to guess, he's wearing something to absorb sweat so his robe doesn't cling.

  3. Looks too thin and wrong shape to be bullet proof vest since he is outside, I will go with some kind of absorbing undergarment.

BTW, Airbus and BA got some huge orders there but I am not the only wondering how both constructors are going to do with the other airlines, seems like quite a few are wondering if they are going to order these big outsized airframes that are just too big for their requirements and needs....

    1. Now i officially declare myself OLD. i still call a moisture absorbent undergarment a T-shirt. oh and it looks entirely different from this setup.

yeah, but the thing is Asia and the Middle East. they pack air passengers in line sardines. whats going to be interesting is when a A380 setup to carry max passengers without a 1st class crashes and you have 500 plus people killed.

    2. It's a new world, Solomon, we're just dinosaurs livin' in it.
Which doesn't mean we have to shut up about it.
      And I'm glad you don't.

  4. If I recall correctly A380 is already certified for 800 pax in full economy class so yes, the day one of these bad boys go down, it's not going to be pretty.

The crazy part about the last order from Emirates is that they are already talking about replacing the first ones they got! It's crazy to think that something so big and expensive is already old after 10 years, I never thought airplanes would become so disposable an asset....

Emirates also wants Airbus to develop -900 version but it doesn't sound like Airbus is in any hurry...I don't blame them.

  7. Emirates already has an schedule to phase out all the remain A340-500 and A330, the first A380s will be phase-out starting in 2015-16, they don't want anything older than 10 years they phase-out schedule calls for the redelivery of 5 to 6 airplanes a year, taking new B777 and/or A380 at around 10 ships a year
