thats pretty much my thought. probably a bit better at the attack mission than the jet trainers turned attackers like the F-50....i just don't know. gutsy move by Textron but i don't know if it'll pay off. it does look good though.
it looks like an F-18 and a Bronco fucked and gave birth to a DOA.....another boondoggle in the making while the Marxist Chinese build and design circles around us.
First thought. Wow that is a little jet. Second thought. That is some exciting action music for a taxi test. Third thought. There is no way any Gen is going to compare that to a F-35 and choose the scorpion over the F-35.
A gutsy move , but plane looks like some mom and pap homebuilt, remember BD10(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bede_BD-10) .I honestly do not see any reason to use jet power for LAS /COIN it costs more and is way less efficient at low speeds, uses more fuel cutting into all important time on station .
For parts of Africa, going after "terrorists" or pirates, in South America, narco traffickers and such, it could be useful. Would have been useful in Afghanistan, could be useful for the local Afghan air force if they were a little bit more up and running. I would prefer it to replace A10 than F35, would be a lot cheaper to buy and operate in CAS role, could also be useful to Marines.
Whats your opinion on this Solomon?
ReplyDeleteNot quite an A-10 not quite an SuperTucano...maybe a modern day A-37 Dragonfly?

DeleteI say it looks like a jet version of the Super Tucano or an updated version of the A-37 Dragonfly.

ReplyDeleteI would think this would be perfect as a LAS/COIN and ISR Aircraft
