Anyone out there ever use Fat Gripz?
I see the advertisements everywhere but I haven't seen anyone at the local gym using them and I'd like to know if they actually work before I plop down the cash.
If you have any real info I'd appreciate it.

I'm a powerlifter from way back, the theory is sound, although it doesn't work for everyone. We used a towel or those foam noodles that kids use in the pool. For certain exercises, you can't lift as much. If you have weak grip strength, it's a good way of strengthening those particular muscles. It can put more strain on your forearms than you may think. Not sure if it's worth the money but try out a towel wrapped around the bar, if you notice an improvement, might be worth it.
ReplyDeletewow. you explained the process alot better than that glitzy advertising page. grip and forearms are the first muscle groups to fail when doing certain exercises. strengthen those muscles and suddenly you have more functional strength. good to go. now i get it.
Deleteoh and towel first before i plop down pocket money on this thing.
Sol, i do strongman, powerlifting and compete in crossfit. They are cool and all, but i just use a Rouge Axle bar, which allows alot more utility in my opinion, or to build my grip i do what ive always called "bearclaws" simply grip two rubber 45 bumper plates with your hands and walk....untill failure and repeat!
ReplyDeleteLarge claws need large grips.
ReplyDeletedid somebody say fat chix? Used quite a few of them in my short Navy career. A two on a scale of ten is a ten on a scale of two.....
