Chinese Produced Zubr Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) via Chinese Military Review.


The Chinese are now building the Zubr LARGE landing craft.

It will be interesting to see how they perform amphibious assaults.  We're already starting to see a hybrid approach.  Large deck LHDs and LPDs...along with big LCACs, mixed with a mechanized Marine Corps (to a greater extent than our own).

Japan is making moves to protect its claims on the disputed islands.  China is building forces to take them.

This is gonna get good (in a bad way).

    They buy four from Ukraine, or rather two will be build in Feodosiya Shipyards ( one is already in China second will be ready next year. Those last two will be build in China with know-how tech transfer in next years. I would say... maybe 2016 ? Then hovers are pretty new thing in PLAN, whole hover tech is new to them and they will need couple of years, maybe even decade to master copy skill of ZUBR.

    But as Sol notice, they are building some serious assault forces.
