spot on. he tried to be diplomatic but reading between the lines is easy. Amos is the most hated Commandant in the modern era. most people don't think twice about who's in the chairman but most bosses don't make the idiotic moves that Amos has.
I am glad that he noted the necessity of an Army capable of being a follow on force and the Army conducting amphibious operations. We need the Corps to be there for all the crap that pops up that we didn't anticipate. We need an Army big enough and ready enough to be directed against the threats we do see coming. Although any way you slice it the F-35 is going to cut manpower, and I can only hope that the budget process turns around before we have two few fifth gen fighters over two few ground troops.
i've been beating the drum about needing a capable Army that isn't cut at the knees for awhile now. bad winds are blowing and i fear they're going to cut too deep. we'll see though.
