The above photos are of a rumored Rafale NG that is being worked on. Supposedly it will have RCS treatment and sensor fusion. CB website says that its reminiscent of the Northrop-Tempest Grumman F/A-36. I'm not familiar with that plane so I don't know. Quite honestly I'm not even sure if this fantasy mock-up meets the definition of low RCS. I'm attempting to get more info. If you have then hit me up.
Gripen News (if you're not following them you should) informed me that the above renders are from the fevered mind of an aviation enthusiast in Argentina of what a stealth-ified Rafale would look like. I got taken in and it appears another blogger did too. It happens.

You may come across a few "Stealth Gripens" in your travels as well.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is interesting, but it's just as legit as your Rafale NG.

The other is based on Saab's FS2020 concept, and has flown as a scale model.

The Rafale is on its death bed, France is buying only 26 units over 5 years, and the Indian deal is going nowhere because the cost doubled.
ReplyDeleteAs for FS2020, I doubt it will happen; its technology will find their ways into the Gripen E/F.
The Rafale is not dead , India will sign the contract until February
DeleteThe cost has not doubled, do not confuse with the F35 .......
France and dassault are working on ucav, the "Neuron", which is stealth and nowadays it flies over my city during night. He is following the x47 way on my mind.
ReplyDeleteThe Rafale is dead in any western power. The French have started a military cooperation with the Russians aimed at joint development of high tech equipment.
ReplyDeleteNo one will buy a plane that gets the technology from the no 1 enemy.
States like Belarus and India might be customers of the Rafale.
If you buy a Rafale today you will be paying a high price, a couple of years later that technology will be found in low cost Russian fighter jets.
