This is the real China. Outrageous, Sickening News from S. Korea.

Thanks for this wild, weird story Joe!

via Yahoo News.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea has seized thousands of smuggled drug capsules filled with powdered flesh from dead babies, which some people believe can cure disease, officials said Monday.

The capsules were made in northeastern China from babies whose bodies were chopped into small pieces and dried on stoves before being turned into powder, the Korea Customs Service said.
Customs officials refused to say where the dead babies came from or who made the capsules, citing possible diplomatic friction with Beijing.
Chinese officials ordered an investigation into the production of drugs made from dead fetuses or newborns last year.
The customs office has discovered 35 smuggling attempts since August of about 17,450 capsules disguised as stamina boosters, and some people believe them to be a panacea for disease, the customs service said in a statement. The capsules of human flesh, however, contained bacteria and other harmful ingredients.
The smugglers told customs officials they believed the capsules were ordinary stamina boosters and did not know the ingredients or manufacturing process.
Ethnic Koreans from northeastern China who now live in South Korea were intending to use the capsules themselves or share them with other Korean-Chinese, a customs official said. They were carried in luggage or sent by international mail.
The capsules were all confiscated but no one has been punished because the amount was deemed small and they weren't intended for sale, said the customs official, who requested anonymity, citing department rules.
China's State Food and Drug Administration and its Health Ministry did not immediately respond to questions faxed to them Monday. Chinese media identify northeastern China as the source of such products, especially Jilin province which abuts North Korea.
The Jilin food and drug safety agency is responsible for investigating the trade of such remains there. Calls to the agency and to the information office of Jilin's Communist Party were not answered Monday.
The South Korean customs agency began investigating after receiving a tip a year ago. No sicknesses have been reported from ingesting the capsules.
Yeah.

How much barbarism must we witness before we decide that China is a mortal enemy?

This is the true face of our enemy.

Don't turn away.

Take it in and understand...future conflict will not be a push button affair.  They will not yield to effects based operations.  Human life is cheap in their calculations, and the loss of a division, a fleet or an air wing will be a price they're willing to pay in order to win.

  1. Hold your horses Sol, weird drugs are not specialty of China, thru I must admit, dead children narcotic is something new. Let's not create some false view that Chinese nation are some barbarians and children eaters, there are always black sheep's and rotten apples in the farm. Don't judge whole nation because some sick humans do such things.

    1. the point is valid. if the Soviet Union was doing the same things China is, do you think that you would have apologist in Congress and the business community crying about how we need to work with them? do you think that if they weren't a powerful nation and they were doing this crap that we wouldn't have children's rights activist crying about how we need to boycott or bomb the fuck out of them?

China is suppose to be the next great power. a challenge to the US and yet these type attrocities are overlooked. why? because of fear.

and thats my main point. China is different. what worked with the Soviet Union will not work with these barbarians. i don't even know if mutually assured destruction is valid with this group of people.

additionally remember this. the US has been successful in wars in Europe and the Middle East. the further you get into Asia the less successful we've been.

the only force that succeeded was the USMC and that was because we were willing to see the real face of the enemy and deal with them as they are, not as we want them to be.

    2. Sol, lad you exaggerate an criminal narcotic case in to nation wide madness. This is CRIMINAL problem, drastic and horrifying but criminal not something that is legit in the China and protected by law.

In every nation there are some weirdos that do drastic things. In Poland there was a case of woman who kill own newborns and put them in the barrels. In US there was some case of almost zombie action when guy under some narcotic try to, with some success, eat other person face. I don't hear world wide outrage that US is nation of zombies and Poland child killers.

      Don't mix two things Sol.

Yes, China IS the superpower now and will challenge US in near future. Yes, they are different then Soviets. Yes, they will be a problem for whole world one way or another. Indeed Asia is after rather bloody but successful war on Pacific not "victory friendly" land for US.

But don't dehumanize Chinese Sol, they are not some barbarians from old times. They are sneaky, intelligent and highly motivated nation. You don't need the history lesson what happen when last time US think that Asians are highly inferior and barbaric... one Pearl Harbor is enough.

Ground up baby pill is not illegal in China. Chinese officials do crack down on narcotics, but not this one.

    4. What about the abortion mills here in the United States is that anymore worse than grinding up dead babies for a drug?
The US simply disposes of the dead babies in the sewage in the landfills and in the common trash.
All on the taxpayers dime, with assistance from the duly elected government and the SCOTUS and the democrat as well as the republican parties.
Kind of like the US of 1941 - 1945 condemnation of the NAZI/German, listing the Jewish holocaust yet overlooking the genocide of the Native American's, slavery and Jim Crow in the US with government approval.
We kill babies, they do too, we dump ours like sewage, they eat theirs.
Who is more moral and who is more insane and evil.

    5. Why would anyone still believe BS like this? While human placenta have been used in traditional Chinese medicine, fetus has never been used. Big difference between fetal placenta and fetus. Some people are just willing to believe anything related to China.

  2. Fetus, along with tiger bones, dragon bones(fossilized dinosaur bones. Many many dinosaur bones enough to fill several dozen museums have been ground up and put into Chinese medicine), and rhino horns, are staples of Chinese medicine dating back thousands of years, and the market is bigger due to China's newfound wealth. Anything related to children and fetus is meant to bring the vitality of children to those who consume it. There is a legal version of this called the "Virgin Boy Urine Egg" which is based on same idea, the vitality of children can be obtained this way.( http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/29/us-china-urine-eggs-idUSBRE82S0EE20120329 ). Also popular and legal is the placenta( http://lifestyle.inquirer.net/54285/eating-placenta-an-age-old-practice-in-china ).

As to why this ground baby pill end up in Korea, these are smuggled in by Chinese laborers to relieve their fatigue after hard physical labor. Korea has something like 1.5 million foreign workers who man dirty and hard positions at factories and construction sites abandoned by the locals a long ago, and 40% of these foreign workers are Chinese. There is a strong demand for traditional fatigue relieving and vitality increasing traditional Chinese medicine, and the baby pill is the cheapest and the most readily available of four major medicine, unfortunately. Korean government has been demanding a crack down on the production of this pill in China, while the Chinese government refuses to even acknowledge this problem, claiming that even suggesting China mass produces ground baby pills defames China.

      > I bet many Koreans also believe in this bullsh*t.

fetus is not a part of traditional Korean medicine, and no licensed traditional medicine doctor and pharmacist would touch it as the stuff is illegal and an instant revocation of one's license. When you talk of eating fetus, they think of the Great Famine of China in the 1960s and the Great Famine of North Korea in the 1990s.

With world famous Korean Ginseng being dirt cheap($50 per kg), Koreans don't have to look at other medicine for vitality and fatigue relief. The only mass imported non-herbal traditional medicine is the deer horn, harvested from deers that shed their horns in the fall of each year.

      > Korea shares many culture traits with China.

Not the cooking, medicine, clothing, language, etc.

      > Dog is considered delicacy in SK, how about that?

Yes, specific dog breeds for consumption, usually large Japanese breeds(No need to explain why) and some European ones. Korean breeds are protected as endagered species and touching them will land you one in prison for a year and a $50K fine.

    3. Korean cuisine does share many seminaries with both Chinese and Japanese cooking styles. Raw fish, noddle dishes, hot pot, dumpling, just to name a few.
Before the introduction of Hangul, Korean language was written in Hanja (Chinese character), even today most Korean words has a corresponding equivalent in Chinese. Also by tradition Korean names are shown in Hanja characters.
Tradition Koreans Medicine (한의학) was rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, you can wiki it. For this very reason, many Koreans also believes in nonsenses such as tiger penis being aphrodisiac, or health boosting substance made from rhino horns.

      > Korean cuisine does share many seminaries with both Chinese and Japanese cooking styles.

Of course any one who actually knows Japanese and Chinese cooking know they are very different styles.

Same thing with Korean and Chinese cooking styles. The wok, which is such an essential cooking ware in Chinese cuisine, doesn't exist in Korean cuisine. Chinese cuisine is built around wok stir frying technique, while Korean cuisine is basically pot boiling and BBQing.

      > noddle dishes

Chinese noodle is hand pulled, while Korean noodle is machine pressed. Chinese style hand noodle pulling simply doesn't exist in Korean cooking. You are looking at very different style of noodle soups.

      > hot pot

Well, hot pot is universal, isn't it.

      > Before the introduction of Hangul, Korean language was written in Hanja (Chinese character),

And not anymore. Linguistically, Korean language is Siberian and is unrelated to Sinitic languages. There is no more natural affinity between Chinese and other Asian languages than are between Chinese and English.

      > Also by tradition Korean names are shown in Hanja characters.

And ask those Koreans to write their names in Hanja characters and most can't.

      > Tradition Koreans Medicine (한의학) was rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, you can wiki it.

The word medicine covers "medical practice" and "herbs". The "herbs" are all local, for the simple fact that Chinese herbs were unavailable in those time and the medical doctors used herbs that were locally available, thereby producing a system of herbal medicine that was very different from China's, because the herbs used to produce medication were totally different from China's. .

      > For this very reason, many Koreans also believes in nonsenses such as tiger penis being aphrodisiac, or health boosting substance made from rhino horns.

Tiger product and Rhino horns are not consumed by Koreans because they have no medicinal meaning under Korean traditional medicine. Bears and deer horns, yes. Tigers and Rhino horns, no.

    5. The Asian's have learned through large population's and starvation to relish dog, rat and cat as food much as the south relishes squirrel (bushy tailed tree rat) rabbits (long eared hopping rats) and O'possum as well as Armadillo (Possum on the half shell) being hungry makes everything edible even dead babies.
Besides which they eat dogs, we take them to shelters where they are gassed or drowned and then to the dump or crematoria those who aren't tied to a tree to freeze to the ground in their on feces.

  3. I think you got it wrong. Chinese are not purposely killing babies for making pills. The "raw materials" are made from abortions, miscarriages, dead infants, or even fake. Knockoffs are everywhere in China, even magic pills marketed as baby powders can be deceiving…
If you want to something about it, how about stop buying stuffs made in China and that will hurt them more than anything else. Unfortunately those computers you and I are making this very argument with are mostly likely made in China.
Without Chinese funding (continually buying up huge amount of our debt), the dollar will be worthless and US government will cease to operate, that includes the military. So it's not as trivial as you think.

Of course they don't have to kill babies; they just make a small payment to hospital workers, who will then collect aborted fetus and stillborn babies and ship them to pill producers.

Some 30 million fetuses are aborted in China each year, so the supply is plentiful and why the ground baby pill is the cheapest and the most readily available exotic traditional Chinese medicine of all, cheap enough that even low-income workers could afford.

You have to understand that Chinese have a very utilitarian view on all things and the so-called Christian ethics non-existent.

The pre-War Japan wasn't too far away from present day China in terms of utilitarianism, hence Kamikaze pilots because one pilot's life for one US carrier was a very fair trade under the utilitarian view. It took a US occupation to change that view to something that's closer to the Western views, but still not in full.

Korea is a strange outlier in this part of region, because this is the only Christian country where Christmas is a national holiday(Not in China, Japan, and Taiwan), ranks 6ths in terms of Catholic saints produced in just 160 years, has the second largest army of Christian missionaries sent overseas after the US, and the conservative Christian ideology similar to US Evangelicals dominate the politics.

    4. Slowman! you just won the prize. when i said in the piece above that effects based operations will not influence the Chinese to give up that's what i mean. they're operating totally different from what we know and we're using the same tactics with a twist that we used with the Soviet Union.

that won't work. this story illustrates how different they are from what we know.

with Western eyes i view this as barbaric. from Asian eyes, its no big deal.

thats why we're going to have to get alot harder to beat the Chinese. they'll lose ships, planes and divisions without batting an eye if thats what it takes to win the war.

we were once close to that in thinking (WW2) but have drifted far from it.

WE NEED TO GET HARD AGAIN!

The Chinese would do this, making large camps for just such use of captured and enslaved people.

    6. China 1,355,692,576 people (give or take). If they lost 18 million in a war, their country wouldn't even sneeze. You don't want a war with this country.

Another thought is - if we ever do have a war with that country - we'd better be prepared to go with the "old Rules" of war. Destroy the enemy completely and take their stuff as spoil.

And if you don't want to go there... don't go to war. Now the US will never tolerate such political incorrectness, and I doubt we'd ever attack China. But I do not doubt that before I die, China will attack the US.

    7. you get it! think about that number. they could lose what would amount to be our entire armed forces (including guard and reserve) and not blink an eye.

what does that mean? that means that they can find and fix a Marine Corps division and send wave after wave of people at it, lose what can amount to 7 or 8 divisions and still win!

we can see this. why can't policy makers? we need to come up with a new way (or rather like you say...go back to the old way) of warfare.

    8. With China there is an interesting mentality. I visited there last year. I had a chance to talk to people and get their opinion on US-China relations. Most of the Chinese I talked to were much more open than I'd been led to expect from things I had read.

They believe that they will dominate the US economically and militarily in the 30-50 year range and will tell you this straight to your face. They believe that eventually their national interests will clash with ours, and there will be war.

They also believe that there is no sense in killing their very best customer until they are ready.

  4. Snopes reported this, or something quite similar, as a myth. Turns out this "fetus soup" or whatever is the work of an artist trying to be controversial.

This wouldn't be the first time a hoax was reported as real news, or someone made up a fake website to make a hoax look legitimate.

    http://www.snopes.com/horrors/cannibal/fetus.asp

There's a website called "news jack" that allows you to "remix" legit news sites with your own content, as well.

I'm not saying this all means this is a hoax, but a story like this definitely requires some confirmation before we all get out our pitchforks.

    1. Nothing is produced for exports.

Some opportunistic Chinese traders do smuggle those "domestic market" pills to overseas Chinese communities where there is a strong market demand for traditional Chinese medicine, because they fetch a premium in places where they are banned, yet consumers are able to pay that premium because they make more money outside of China.

digesting babies in the belief that it will give you anytype of benefit is totally foreign to me.

for you to ignore that is to deny the truth. but back to my blog.

in my opinion the US and Chinese military are heading to war. its inevitable. in my opinion the US is recycling the playbook from our dealings with the Soviet Union. that is a mistake. we're dealing with a culture who's view of the value of human life is totally foreign to us. they will accept losses that would topple an American govt.

      thats important.

that's being missed by the Defense Department.

      > Read the story again, Korean-chinese, there are over 1 million korean living in China.

Yes, 1 million ROK citizens in China who are sent as business/factory managers and students.

If you are talking 2 million ethnic Korean Chinese, keep in mind that these are legally and "culturally" Chinese, and the ROKers regard them as such. Furthermore, 65% of Chinese citizens in Korea are Han Chinese.

This is similar to Japan's experience with Japanese Brazilians, whose ancestors migrated to Brazil three to four generations ago and returned to Japan on work-visa. Contrary to Japanese expectations these folks are culturally Brazilian in life style and the way of thinking and Japanese found it hard to integrate these people, so they were first to be kicked out when the global financial crisis hit Japan in 2008. Japanese government's current war against Japanese American congressmen Mike Honda(The champion of all the victims of the Imperial Japan in Asia. Japan is currently diplomatically "nuked" by Mike Honda's crusade against Japan's history denier) of Silicon Valley is another illustration of one's cultural identity issue.

      > The pill is fake loser, and about "Chinese practice of eating the remains of fetus".

There is nothing fake about both the pill and the practice; the pill does contain human DNA and Chinese have consumed fetus as a special-power vitality medicine for thousands of years.

      > I guess white men have been practicing eating humans, right?

According to DNA studies, yes. Those whose ancestors practiced cannibalism are genetically more resistant to CJD(Human form of Mad Cow Disease contracted from beef) than those who didn't. The reason Korean government insists on banning US beef product from cows older than 3 years is because Korean population is extra-vulurable to CJD relative to others, ditto for Japan.

      > No wonder Asian American don't vote for you losers.

The race politics among "Asian American" is that they vote white. For example, let's say a white candidate is running against a Chinese American candidate, non-Chinese Asian American voters will vote for that white candidate over the Chinese American candidate. An Asian American candidate's best chances are mostly white liberal districts, or in districts where the majority of the population is of same ethnicity as the candidate.
