They do not need 100% of Zummwalt's capability ,just go as stealthy as posible while using off the shelf armament and sensors. let US spend cash trying to invent high tech that might not eve work or is so expensive that a destroyer coasts almost as much as an flattop

They talk about the potential for a Pearl Harbor type cyber attack on our systems. Looking at what the Chinese are coming out with everyday, it appears it already happened. They must of cleaned up every bit of data on the DOD's hard drives.
This ship has long been rumored to begin development. I think it's a logical next step for the PLAN from their current 052D mainstays. The Chinese do copy a lot of advanced western tech, however, in this case I'm unclear on what part of the ship you think is a copy. It has long been known that shaping is critical to radar stealth, and there aren't many ways to design a ship's exterior. I think the USN adopted the controversial tumblehome hull design precisely for the stealth factor, because a tumblehome hull is more conducive to stealth shaping. Maybe the Chinese are in agreement with this also. Though I have my doubts that the 055 will serve the same role as the USN DDG-1000. The operational requirements for the respective navies are just very different for the foreseeable future.
Would make sense, they've done the same analysis re littoral wars. We did the R&D, they had it handed to them and they will roll out the gear. Banksters obviously want SE Asia flattened by their new bestest starship troopers. Go on imagine that thing sits 150 km off shore of Manila circa 2018. Watcha gonna do?
