Everyone of these bastards should be forced out of the National Guard! Update.

Thanks for the disturbing link Joe.

Read the story here.

Rant time.

This is what happens when you have an institution that is charged with a very important mission suddenly adopt an attitude that anything goes...that anything is alright and that standards of conduct and bearing are no longer important.

This is bullshit.

Everyone of these bastards needs to be given a Bad Conduct Discharge and the taint of their service removed from the rolls of the Wisconsin National Guard.

Note:  I took a closer look at the pic and want to point out something...

Notice the two Guardsmen that I outlined?  They don't look happy to be there.  Don't look like they want to be in the pic but took it anyway.  Should they be excused?  No.  We expect courage in combat but what about moral courage?  Being courageous on moral issues is HARDER!  So despite the look of "help me" they too should still be punished.

  1. the only redeeming aspect of this was the casket was empty (so the news story says), i am not in anyway dismissing their behavior and i completely agree, bad conduct discharge! but imagine if it had been a casket with a real fallen service member, just wow!

    1. no excusing this Joe. the optics are terrible. ITS A FLAG DRAPED CASKET! you and i both know what that means. i don't know whose idea this was and it doesn't matter. this is not in the best traditions of the armed forces, bring discredit upon the National Guard, is conduct detrimental to the well being of that organization and is obscene in the classical sense of the word.

quite honestly a BCD is a measured response and some will probably think that it isn't a severe enough punishment. just ask a mother whose son came home in one of those.

    2. yeah thats understandable, what charges could come under the UCMJ? would the commander of their unit get punishment for even allowing this?

    3. My first thought.. fu**ing hilarious.. until I realized: What if this had been German forces in front of a casket with a German flag.
      There is only one answer:
      punish them. Punish them hard

  2. How difficult was it for them to just all turn in toward the casket (even if it was used for training) and salute it for a photo?

    1. the death of a loved one is such a private affair i wouldnt even want a photo of that, i know there are many and usually with consent of the family but just wrong in general.

    1. dude is wearing a combat patch. my guess is that he knows its wrong but can't quite put his finger on why, doesn't want to be unpopular with his troops so he splits the middle. he's in the photo but wants plausible deniability so he isn't showing his face and want to fit in with the goofy shit going on so he does the dumb ass thing by pointing at nothing.

    2. I assumed he was making fun of POWs. There was a very famous incident in Vietnam when the North put our POWs on TV to prove they weren't mistreating them. The one guy started bowing and saluting to everything.

    3. I think it is just supposed to be funny. I have seen similar in other "funny" group pictures.

Not good. I would make them lick the base's floor clean. Then kick them out.

  4. the story says its a full time honor guard member who took the photo, if anyone should have known better its that person, they should be hit hard as well.

  5. I say Dishonorable Discharge the idiot who published the picture. Hes' done the most damage to the army. The rest get NJPs and booted out of honor guard for failure to not suck at life, but I wouldn't kick them out of the army entirely. Let the suck they endure be an object lesson to everyone else who's watching. I'm merciful like that.

  6. i would want them to go to every family they have done funerals for and apologize, imagine if you are looking at that and know they did the funeral for your son or daughter that fell overseas?

  7. I don't post much but I would like to say, that, it would have been in good taste if all of them were standing there in full battle gear protecting the remains of their fallen brother with the caption.....
YOU GOTTA FUCK WITH US NOW!!

  10. IDIOTS. This ain't no flogging SNL skit and you clowns are why the regular Army doesn't think highly of National Guard troops.
So the casket was empty, the flag was still THE FLAG and you bunch of sad sack MoFo's disgraced it.

  11. In my mind, their boss should be the one answering for this sorry state of affairs. If he or she had been doing their job right, this would have never happened.
I can tell you if any of my people had been caught doing this, I would have had a very uncomfortable time standing at attention in front of my XO and CO having what was left of my ass handed back to me.
Then of course, the shit would have run downhill with increasing velocity.
Just like children, soldiers, sailors and marines don't raise themselves. They need strong leadership and strong examples of proper decorum and behavior.
I'm not opposed to cutting-up a bit, but for fucks sake, with a casket (and all that that means) and the US flag?!!
What has happened to our leadership?
    WTF-Over!
