I don't know if I should be upset or just consider this the price of a misplaced decision by business executives.
Sikorsky license built BlackHawks in China under the ruse of them being only for non-military use.
Of course the Chinese simply modified it and are now preparing to use it against us (and our allies).
What, they have that much orders that factory in US and Poland can't handle them ?
ReplyDeletevery odd design... it's a bastardized Romeo with Seahawk/Blackhawk tail wheel. Additionally they went with the older Bravo/Foxtrot Batwings?
ReplyDeletegreat eye. their was a concept when the mv-22 was still being debated about whether a slightly enlarged Blackhawk wouldn't be a better option. i think thats what we're seeing here.
Deletelooking more at it, there's some more peculiarities:
Delete1. They probably will have to fly with a load as shown, which hurts the concept of "multi-mission". Their Cg is going to be forward with the radar being mounted. That could be why they are showing a smaller then normal FLIR turrent?
2. Looks like they went with a Blackhawk/Seahawk style double door. The second image looks like the top of a rescue hoist?
3. No idea what the ball "antenna" device is on the rear where the tail rotor transmission drive is?
Overall, I really like the design. It's definitely been elongated in the cabin (perhaps to move the Cg towards the rear to offset the radar). They've taken a lot of the better aspects of the 3 'Hawks and combined with the size of the S-72. Smart buggers
That ball antenna may be China's data link. Currently as shown, this aircraft has no capability to send Acoustics / Radar / Video to the mothership. All the antennas are blade style so VHF/UHF LOS comms.
