Asia should be concerned. Japan is remilitarizing and will soon be capable of conducting offensive operations throughout the region.
I don't say that to say that they don't have a military. No. I say that to mean we're about to see offensive warfare capability reintroduced into their forces. Japan will once again be able to take and hold territory throughout the region.
Congrats China. You pushed so hard that the Japanese are gearing up with an eye toward fighting you.
Note: Compare and contrast the completeness of Japanese planning. Also note the missile armed MV-22 shown in the vid! They are going to take our gear and make it better. I'm almost tempted to have the Marine Corps wait and buy whatever mods the Japanese do to the AAV and then buy it!

ReplyDeleteAs Canada, they can built Nukes in 90 days if they want.
ReplyDeleteIt's sort of a perfect storm of threats in the past few years: Russia in the North has been behaving like richards, North Korea with their stupid missile/nuke program provocations and then the Chinese doing real estate tours near the Senkaku chain.
ReplyDeleteAnd in case the general public of Japan didn't get the message, they have the issue of earthquake. The citizens of Japan had a good reminder that a robust military can also be useful for disasters.
A threat across a narrow strip of ocean sure seems to focus the mind.
ReplyDeleteIf this video was produced by a European nation it would be easy to dismiss as spin and hyperbole.
Always amazed by their forces level of professionalism and how much they get done on a budget similar to ours here in the UK.
Yeah they can run an entire military for less than it will take us to make a few F-35's.
ReplyDeleteOh right... and that there was sarcasm... but still a good point!
DeleteThe question is; how does the U.S compliment Japan's defence given a shrinking budget? Watching the video I believe that the most valuable contribution the U.S can bring, which the JSDF lacks, is an offensive navy.
