Of special interest in this vid is the Narwhal 20mm RWS.  Read about that impressive setup here.

  1. What's wrong with that radar dome ? It's spin like the disco ball on steroids.

    1. Nah, check the turret traverse speed, it's ok and radar dome still spin like it take LSD. I'm not the best spec about modern ship radars but If I'm correct this is a Herakles from Thales. First time I saw that radar dome can spin that crazy.

    2. It affects the refresh rate of your radar picture. The faster the spin, the more often the radar sweeps the beam across the target, and the faster your picture is updated. This is for the search radar. Mechanically steered radar meh. The future is AESA nowadays, but guess they were on a budget. Well, as long as it works.

  3. It's a nice ship, but like most French warships, it is under-armed for it's size.

It should have a 127mm gun like the Italian version, and at least 1 CIWS over the helicopter hangar.

Hell, the brochure for the export version offers one, why can't the French Navy get one?
