Many thanks to Lucas for the link!
It just occured to me. Are we going to see a family of vehicle develop here? It would seem a given that a Engineer, Command, Ambulance, Anti-Air, etc...version would be dedicated to lower the training and logistics cost for their Army and Marines while operating these vehicles. Time to do a little research.

Yes, there will be 2 families of vehicles: one of 6X6 and the other of 8X8.
ReplyDeleteAll kind of variants are foreseen, including a 105 mm (L7/M68) version for the 8X8.
Initialy it was foreseen a 90 mm (Cockerill Mk 8) version for the 6X6, but LOOKs like it is now dead, and superseded by the heavily armed 8X8 version.

ReplyDeleteThis fact has been known since about beginning of last year. At LAAD exhibition in April, both OTO-Melara and CMI presented their proposals for turret eqquiped with 105 mm (L7/M68) gun. A few months latter the Army issued a RFP for sample and pricing.
ReplyDeleteThis vehicle will be known as the RBR-MR.

Is this cannon version designed to replace the old EE-9 Cascavel?
